The Scientific Services Laboratory run by the City of Edinburgh Council provides a wide range of laboratory testing and scientific advisory services to the Council, elected members, emergency services, other local authorities, the Foods Standards Agency and, private businesses and the general public...It is one of two accredited laboratories in Scotland and the only laboratory to be recognised by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills and the European Commission for testing the safety of toys.
