Thousands of revellers turned out to watch the Edinburgh Festivals Cavalcade which marks the opening of this years Edinburgh Festival. The Cavalcade was led by 150 motorbikes and included the entire cast from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo along with many performers from the Fringe. This year the event was held in Holyrood Park due to major tram works on Princes Street in the city centre which normally hosts the event.
