  • EDINBURGH, UK: Dancers, musicians,stunt men and women put on a colourful show at the dress rehearsal of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. The event is the largest gathering of military musicians in the UK with participants from as far a field as Africa, America and Asia.   • Thousands of revellers turned out to watch the Edinburgh Festivals Cavalcade which marks the opening of this years Edinburgh Festival.  The Cavalcade was led by 150 motorbikes and included the entire cast from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo along with many performers from the Fringe.  This year the event was held in Holyrood Park due to major tram works on Princes Street in the city centre which normally hosts the event.  Picture the Xi'an Cultural Act from China.

  • Disabled dancer Claire Cunningham debuts her show Me (Mobile/Evolution) at the Edinburgh Fringe showcasing her exceptional technique, from the quiet, sculptural 'Mobile', combining dance, text and aerial, to the uplifting beauty of 'Evolution'.  Claire's bones are brittle and easily fractured, she has relied on crutches to keep herself mobile since her teens.
