N / 003¡ 21? W above Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. All 16 aircrew and 243 passengers aboard the aircraft died. Two major portions of the aircraft wreckage fell on the town of Lockerbie, the impact and resulting fireball accounting for the lives of 11 residents of the town: 21 homes had to be demolished and many more required substantial repairs.
